Communications and SCADA Engineering - 30 years

Performed all Engineering activities associated with design, procurement, and
construction for Telecommunications, Energy Management Systems (EMS), SCADA, and Dispatch
Support. Helped develop full graphics display standards for new EMS systems. Worked with Human
Factors consultants and dispatch personnel to ensure that needs were met by new display designs.

Managed, designed, and tested new implementations of custom SCADA protocols. Managed the
installation of Alternate Control Centers for emergency dispatch backup. This included physical
facilities, electrical, emergency generation, and computer interfacing to telemetry and human
interface. Worked with the IEEE technical committee to host the 1995 biannual PICA
international conference in Salt Lake City. This involved the selection of a volunteer host
committee and working with the Salt Lake Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Distribution Standards Engineering - 2 years

Helped develop underground distribution and metering standards and was also on the South
East Idaho Corrosion Coordinating Committee.

University of Utah - 1 year

Worked at the University of Utah Instrumentation Research Laboratory. Helped to certify
telephone equipment and worked on one of a kind electronic and electromechanical projects.
